History Camps


Wednesday and Thursday, April 19 and 20, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM Colonial Academy
Location: James Monroe Museum and Mary Washington House

Presented in conjunction with Washington Heritage Museums for students in 3rd-5th grades. There will be instruction and discussion on a variety of topics related to the Colonial Era, including reading and writing cursive, archeology, domestic life, crafts, games. Students will spend one day at the James Monroe Museum and one day at Mary Washington House (1200 Charles St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401).

Monday and Tuesday, July 10 & 11, 9:30 AM-12:00 PMĀ  Major Monroe’s History Camp
Location: James Monroe Museum

Enlist in this two-day, hands-on history camp for boys and girls ages 7-12. The camp features games, crafts, demonstrations, and tours that introduce children to life during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, including the American Revolutionary war and the War of 1812.
