The historic museum building houses an object collection of over 1,600 items, including decorative arts, personal items, costumes and memorabilia. Additionally, the on-site archives houses over 10,000 documents, and the library holds over 3,000 volumes of rare and historic books.
Visitors to the museum may take guided tours of five exhibition galleries, browse in the Museum Shop and enjoy the lovely Memorial Garden. Those interested in furthering their Monroe knowledge may also make appointments to do research in the museum’s archives. Events held throughout the year also provide fun, family-friendly entertainment.
