The garden at the James Monroe Museum is a lovely, tranquil, and functional space in which the museum can host outdoor public events and other gatherings.

The garden is also now available for outside groups to rent for special events from April 1 to October 31 each year. Visit our Rentals page to see pictures, rates, guidelines and restrictions.

The garden features a lovely crepe myrtle tree, boxwoods, and yellow Carolina jessamine vine. Pots of colorful annual flowers are brought in seasonally to brighten up the brick patio. A custom-built canopy provides shade and protection from inclement weather from April through October.
