We are excited to act as the staging area for this year’s Ghostwalk! Ghostwalk is a haunted tour of downtown Fredericksburg, sponsored by the UMW Historic Preservation Club. Participants experience the ghost stories of some of the area’s most haunted sites including St. George’s Church, Mary Washington House, the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop, the Rising Sun Tavern – and of course, the James Monroe Museum and our neighboring Masonic Cemetery.
Ghostwalk will be held this year on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5. The museum will be open (free of charge) to Ghostwalk participants from 5 to 9 p.m. both of these days. For more information about Ghostwalk and to register, call 540/654-1315 or e-mail UMWGhostwalk@gmail.com.
