Friends of the James Monroe Museum
Although the museum is a Virginia state agency, we rely on the generosity of the public to support our many programs and projects. We invite you to play an important part in the preservation of this nationally significant collection and in the continuing education of the public on topics related to James Monroe.
Membership Levels
All new members will receive a copy of the Museum’s publication Our Face to the World: The Clothing of James and Elizabeth Monroe.
$35 | Governors: (individuals)Receive free admission for the cardholder to the museum, a twenty percent discount at the museum shop, invitations to special members-only events, and the monthly e-newsletter. |
$50 | Representatives: (couples and households)Receive the Governor benefits, PLUS free admission for up to four household members (cardholder must be present). |
$100 | Senators: All Representative benefits plus one free, curator-guided tour of the Museum and Archives (limit four persons; contact us to schedule) |
$200 | Ambassadors: All Senator benefits plus five one-time-use guest passes to share with others ($30 benefit value) |
$500 | Cabinet Secretary: All Senator benefits plus single-use $100.00 discount on Museum/Garden rental fee for a private event* |
$1000 & up | Presidential: All Senator benefits plus single-use $200.00 discount on Museum/Garden rental fee for private event |

1. Complete the “About You” section.
2. Complete the “Your Gift” section, by entering the amount of your membership level or gift. From the “Please allocate my gift to” drop-down menu, please choose “Friends of the James Monroe Museum”
3. Complete the remainder of your information and press the “Submit” button to complete your online gift or membership.
4. Your transaction will be confirmed by The James Monroe Museum, and a receipt will be issued by the UMW Foundation.
