Summer is winding down and JMM is gearing up for its fall events!
Saturday, September 21, noon to 5 p.m.: We’ll once again co-sponsor the annual Fredericksburg Welsh Festival in the 900 block of Charles Street. This celebration of Monroe’s Welsh heritage includes a Welsh marketplace; live music; history, genealogy and language lessons; folk dancing; storytelling; a poetry contest; and children’s activities. Friday-Saturday, October 18-19: “James Monroe: Life and Legacy” Symposium
This free public program, a joint presentation of the museum and the Papers of James Monroe, features lectures from an array of scholars covering political and cultural themes of Monroe’s life, and concludes with the 26th Annual James Monroe Lecture.
