Special Donor Opportunities
The staff of the James Monroe Museum is always undertaking projects to preserve the condition of our important collections, to improve public access to those collections, and to better educate the public. The museum protects some of the most valuable and rare objects and documents in the country, and it is a major responsibility – one that we take very seriously. Donations from our Friends and supporters also help the museum make new acquisitions. Contributions enabled the purchase in February 2012 of an important furlough pass signed in 1778 by then- Major James Monroe- the earliest known example of Monroe’s signature.
